ENT Quiz – Swelling in base of tongue

Suprahyoid thyroglossal cyst

32 year old male presented with complaints of foreign body sensation throat and difficulty in swallowing since 1 month. Not a smoker, alcoholic.

On examination: Oral cavity normal, oropharynx normal, neck no nodes.

Flexible laryngoscopy: Showing a smooth mass in the substance of base of tongue, in the midline. See the attached image. Rest of the study unremarkable.

What could be the provisional diagnosis?
